Lockdown April

So next week we were looking forward to our Spring venture to the Goncourt Complex, in the champagne region of France. King Lake was to be our destination, and we were all preparing our kit, eager and excited for some spring French lumps.

A disappointing trip last October to Les Quis saw us wanting to make amends this spring, however Covid 19, or coronavirus has put paid to any chance of us venturing through the tunnel and onto our lake.

This is the sole reason for preparing this website, I’m in the mood for some writing, research and kit preparation. I need to get the kit laid out, everything dry, and then see what is left after a winter of being locked away in mice infested darkness. Yes, I’m slightly concerned that the little rodents have had a field day with my straps on the bedchair, luggage and clothing.

We have now had confirmation that we can change the booking until next April, so that is one blessing in disguise. We are now looking to see if there is availability for the chateaux Lake for this September. That will be nice, a drive & survive, on a fantastic piece of water that I last fished two years ago. The fish move around in huge shoals, and you have to be right on the ball to keep them in your swim, whilst they are patrolling through. Action can be fast and furious, and a lot of fish are caught after dark. Bait boats and boats are banned, so it will be a case of getting the spodding rod out, and arm aching action.

I will keep you posted as to events concerning the lockdown, as there is plenty of time to start to get a lot of content prepared for future blogs.

Take care,

Mark
